Positive cases of West Nile Virus in Canada by host type

Of the 295 people who tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV) in 2025, 59 per cent reported neurological symptoms, with three per cent of cases resulting in death.

Cases of WNV are monitored annually by the Public Health Agency of Canada and its partners from April to November. Sources for this data set include local and provinical authorities, as well as information from Canadian Blood Services and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
