Floridians had higher anxiety scores if they felt strong FOMO when on social media

Survey participants' average scores on the GAD-7 evaluation corresponded to their agreement with the statement, "Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out when I see what others post on social media."

The GAD-7 questionnaire assesses symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder. A score under 10 indicates minimal (0-4) or mild (5-9) anxiety. Those over 10 exhibit moderate (10-14) to severe anxiety (15 or higher). The authors surveyed 500 Floridians, 446 of whom are active social media users. Twenty-six respondents strongly agreed with the statement, 117 agreed, 164 disagreed and 164 strongly disagreed.
