Current Infection Rate by 2016 Presidential Vote

Since September 13, the rate of new Covid-19 infections has been higher in counties where a majority of voters supported Donald Trump in 2016 than in counties where Hillary Clinton received a majority of the vote.

In landslide counties, the leading candidate won by 20 percentage points or more. In competitive counties, the lead was less than 20 points.
