The World's Most Overhyped Festivals

Coachella is the most overhyped festival, with a gap score of 75/100, followed by Glastonbury (73/100) and Burning Man (60/100).

We analysed 45 major global festivals using two metrics: a hype score based on search volume and media mentions, and a sentiment score calculated from positive minus negative fan feedback (via Meltwater data). Subtracting sentiment from hype produced a “gap score,” revealing the disconnect between expectation and reality. Higher positive scores indicate more overhyped festivals, while negative scores highlight those that exceed expectations.
