Exhibit 2: The difference between modeled transfer aggregates and historic transfer peaks can be large

The sum of the modeled bilateral transfer values between SPP and its neighbors (modeled transfer aggregate) is far greater than SPP's highest recorded transfer peak (daily peak outflows or inflows). All values shown in gigawatts.


Modeled transfer aggregate is calculated as the sum of the bilateral interregional transfer capacity values between SPP and its neighbors for 2020 from the DOE National Transmission Needs study. Historic daily peak outflows and inflows are calculated based on recorded hourly total (net) interchange values from EIA 930.
