Immigration's impact on states

Florida, Texas, California and New York got the largest numbers of new immigrants between 2020 and 2025. Texas and Florida gained population, while California and New York lost population because of state-to-state migration, causing a projected reshuffling of congressional seats after 2030.

Projected reapportionment provided by Jonathan Cervas of Carnegie Mellon University. Other projections differed slightly but agreed that California was likely to lose the most seats and Texas likely to gain the most.
