Mississippi's labor force has significantly improved since the initial fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic in April, of 2020, with the number of people willing and able to work in February of 2021 comparable to before the economic crisis. The number of jobless people looking for work in February of 2021 was roughly 7,000 higher than in February 2020 before the pandemic.
