Schools with higher achievement levels in ELA also tend to show higher growth

For each school in San Francisco that serves middle schoolers, ELA growth score for 2024 as a function of the average Distance from Met in the prior year.

Trend line calculated based just on the schools shown. Squares are K-8 Schools; circles indicate middle schools. The two KIPP schools are shown as middle schools but have small 5th grade classes too. The size of the square or circle is based on the number of students in grades 4-8 who took the SBAC test in both 2024 and 2023 and hence were included in the growth score calculation.
