While the reason is unknown, the number of
reported cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis
in Missouri have all decreased since 2022.
The chart documents the number of reported cases of three recorded STI's in Missouri between 2019 and 2023. Chlamydia is the most common of the three and has seen a slight decline since 2019. Gonorrhea is the second most common STI recorded. Rates rose slightly then fell by 2023. Syphilis was the least common, however it is the only in which total cases in 2023 is higher than in 2019.
