Note: Estimates calculated by the Department of Education via Power Stats. Measures the outstanding federal student loan balance held by borrowers 12 years following initial college entry during the 2003-04 academic year relative to the total original student loan amounts disbursed for that student, restricted to students who borrowed a federal loan who did not consolidate their loans at any point during that 12-year window. Degree completion measured as of 2009, six years following initial college entry.
