Defending NATO

A considerable share of National Rally voters said they'd want France to rush to the defense of a NATO country that's under attack in a March European Pulse survey.

Respondents, displayed here by the vote they cast in the 2024 EU election, were asked whether they'd support sending French military forces to defend a NATO member country if it were attacked by a foreign power.



The European Pulse survey was conducted by Cluster17 from March 13 to 21, surveying 6,698 adults online across Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain, including 1,515 in France. Results were weighted to be representative on dimensions including age, gender and geography. The French polls have a margin of error up to ±2.5 percentage points, meaning the true value lies within 2.5 points of the polling estimates in 95 percent of cases.
