Percent of undergraduates by race and ethnicity compared to state demographics

While data are not perfectly comparable,* universities operating with and without affirmative action have had more success in recruiting a racially and ethnically diverse student population university-wide than in computer science and engineering programs, with some exceptions. Data are from fall 2022.

*Universities and the state report demographic data differently. Seattle University figures do not include the "two or more races" category and instead ascribes multi-racial students into multiple categories, so the total exceeds 100%. For Washington's general population, the category Latino/Hispanic includes individuals of various races. The state data does not include "not indicated" and "international/non-domestic."
