Average annual growth in workers* during 2017-18 and 2022-23 in different economic activities

*Numbers are calculated based on usual principal and subsidiary status (UPSS)

Rural + Urban is computed as the estimated total workers in Rural and Urban separately using projected populations and share of workers in different industry in Rural & Urban and adding up. Population projections are taken from the expert group report of National Commission on Population, MoHFW and interpolated for the mid-point of the survey namely 1st January of the survey period. The percentage of workers in different industries for rural and urban areas are taken form the corresponding PLFS reports
