When the war started, hybrid vehicle sales climbed

Electric vehicle sales fell sharply after a federal tax credit expired on Sept. 30, 2025. After the U.S.-Iran war began on Feb. 28, 2026, hybrid sales surged while sales of all-electric vehicles stayed below 2025 levels.
