Spending on Early Childhood Education is a Tiny Sliver of GDP

Investments in early childhood education (ECE) represented less than 0.5% of the total $20.5 trillion U.S. GDP expenditure in 2018. The National Academies' proposal would bring it to 0.75% of total GDP, which is about equal to the OECD average.
