Idaho's female incarceration rate leads the nation, again 

For the fourth consecutive year, Idaho's incarceration rate for women is higher than any other state. Idaho imprisoned 132 women per 100,000 residents in 2022, according to the latest Department of Justice data. Preliminary data from 2023 estimates a 17% increase in the number of women detained in Idaho prisons. These are the 10 states with the highest rates.
