Voluntary intoxication laws across the states

Across the country, laws differ on when intoxication leaves a sexual assault victim legally unable to consent. In 19 states, victims are considered mentally incapacitated only when they became impaired without their knowledge or consent. In 25 other states and the Washington, D.C., the law makes no distinction between voluntary and involuntary intoxication.
