Amount of money distributed to states and districts through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund

Congress allocated pandemic relief to states and districts in three rounds between March 2020 and March 2021. ESSER funds were included in the March 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the December 2020 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act, and the March 2021 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
