Deaths and new coronavirus infections are dropping in N.J. nursing homes

Long-term care facilities saw deaths fall by 64% in February, after steadily increasing for months amid the coronavirus' second wave, according to an NJ Advance Media analysis of state data. The decline came as cases fell in the community and vaccinations became more widespread among residents and staff.

Monthly categories run Sept. 2-Oct.2, Oct. 3-Nov. 2, Nov. 3-Dec.2, Dec. 3-Jan.4, Jan. 5-Feb. 2 and Feb. 3-March 1.
