A map of Spain showing, on a colour-gradient scale, the percentage of European immigrants out of the total population in each province. The proportion of European immigrants in the total population exceeds 10 per cent in the provinces of Alicante and Málaga. In five other coastal provinces (Almería, the Balearic Islands, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Castellón and Girona), European immigrants account for more than 7 per cent of the total. By contrast, their relative presence in the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona is lower than their proportion in Spain as a whole.
