According to the OBR "Following the dramatic rise in oil and gas prices in late 2021 and 2022 and the introduction of the energy profits levy in May 2022, receipts are expected to reach a peak of £11.0 billion in 2022-23 before falling back, in line with falls in both oil and gas prices and production."
