BMI categories for 7-year-old and 13-year-old boys
Overweight and obesity are defined according to the body mass index (BMI; kg/m2) defined by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
These figures are minimum values. I.e. A BMI between 17,4 and 19,0 kg/m2 for a 7-year-old-boy would be considered overweight. But a BMI of 19,1 kg/m2 and above is classed as severely overweight.
