Race of drivers stopped can be disproportionate to population
The disparity is most pronounced among black drivers, who make up nearly 33 percent of drivers stopped in 2017 but about 14 percent of the St. Paul's driver-age population.
Chart does not include stops of drivers identified as Native American or "other" race, and the less than 1 percent who were not identified by race. Collectively, this accounts for 6 percent of stops.
