Click on each heading to see how Illinois and Indiana compare with other U.S. states and territories for coronavirus cases and deaths, and rates of each.  Also see how Illinois compares in terms of more recent cases -- those reported over the past seven days. NBC5 Investigates updates this chart each evening.  These numbers come, mainly, from the Centers for Disease Control and Johns Hopkins' Coronavirus Resource Center. Data is pulled daily from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Positivity rates are pulled daily from Johns Hopkins University's Coronavirus Resource Center. However, positivity rates for Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin are pulled directly from those states' Department of Health data.
