California's Persistent Gaps: Graduation Rates by Race/Ethnicity
Percent of California students that graduate high school has risen, overall, but with big differences among the groups
9 lines represent graduation rates for race/ethnicity reporting categories. Most graduation rates increase slightly from the 2017-18 school year to the 2023-24, but the most dramatic feature of the graph is the gap between the races persisting throughout the years. Filipino and Asian student groups have rates around 95% for the 7 years shown while the student groups for American Indian or Alaska Native and African American students were around 80% despite modest improvements.
