Lead and non-lead service lines in NYC, February 2023

Lead service lines were banned in NYC in the 1960s, but the dangerous pipes remain in older buildings.

A pie chart shows that about 60% of service lines in NYC do not contain lead. About 16% contain lead, and an additional 26% are believed to contain lead.
