Students graduating with computer science major to drop 59% next school year

Number of students graduating with Bachelor’s of Arts in computer science from 2015-16 to 2025-26 academic years

2015-25 data was taken from the UC Berkeley Office of the Vice Chancellor of Finance’s Office of Planning and Analysis and includes headcounts of Bachelor’s of Arts recipients in computer science. Figures for 2025-26 were provided by campus spokesperson Janet Gilmore. The projected figure for 2026-27 is taken from an X post from electrical engineering and computer sciences Chair Jelani Nelson and is an approximate value.
