2008 Presidential Election

In 2008, with 13,575,062 registered voters in the state of Texas there were 8,077,795 votes cast -- a turnout of 59.50%.

Of those 8 million votes, 4,479,328 went to Republican John McCain while 3,528,633 went to Democrat Barack Obama.

Libertarian Wayne Root received 56,116 votes while the remaining ballots went to seven write-in candidates.
