32 US states produce crude oil – some in large quantities

Federal data shows that the U.S. as a whole – including offshore drilling – produced 4.8 billion barrels of crude oil in 2024 from sites in 32 states. More than 40% of that came from Texas, with another 15% from New Mexico.
