Columbia Public Schools aims to increase and retain a diverse workforce. Programs like CoMoEd assist the district in reaching this goal by supporting mostly aspiring educators of color.
The percentage of non white teachers in Columbia public schools was 8.6 in the 2011-2012 school year. The percentage dips to 7.7 in 2018, before a sharp increase to 10.3 percent in 2024.
