First-Year Enrollment Demographic Breakdown

Cornell’s Office of Institutional Research and Planning lists enrollment data categorized by race and ethnicity in five main groups: Asian or Asian-White (U.S.); Black, Hispanic, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander and/or American Indian (U.S.); White (U.S.); Unknown (U.S.) and International. Race-based affirmative action could no longer be used starting with students admitted to begin in Fall 2024.

The data illustrate the demographic percentages of four classes, based on "first-time undergraduate" enrollment from each fall term. Students are categorized under only one group each, so percent totals sum to 100 percent.
