The biggest paychecks. Like always, you’ll find them being cashed by MBAs who work in Finance. That starts with Stanford GSB graduates, who hauled in $210,000 in 2022. Indeed, employer preferences are clearly tiered in Finance. Among the Class of 2022, Harvard Business grads earned $191,831, followed by Wharton School MBAs at $174,774. Overall, you’ll find seven business schools where graduates earned $160K-$170K to start, not counting Cornell Johnson and Northwestern Kellogg in the $158K-$159K range. At the same time, the list includes outliers like Vanderbilt Owen, whose MBAs outearned their counterparts in higher-ranked programs like UC Berkeley Haas and Carnegie Mellon Tepper. The most eye-catching stat: A Harvard MBA negotiated a $1 million dollar base to start – and a Columbia Business School grad pulled off a $400K payday. In addition, several schools unexpectedly boasted graduates who started at $200K or better, including Texas McCombs, UCLA Anderson, USC Marshall, and UNC Kenan-Flagler.
