Annual pounds of active ingredient reported for eight major herbicide families, 2000–2023

Includes applications reported under DPR site code 30000, “FOREST, TIMBERLAND,” which includes public and private lands. Salts and esters are grouped into parent herbicide families. Pounds represent reported active ingredient and are not normalized to acid equivalent. Because herbicides differ substantially in application rates, pounds should not be interpreted as a direct measure of the amount of land treated.
