Juvenile court staff routinely assign private attorneys

Eligible private attorneys get up to $75 an hour representing clients on thousands of cases each year in Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court. Instead of evenly distributing appointments among lawyers, judges often prefer reliability, experience and those who move cases along.
