The Security Benchmark Report captures information on security budgets and total reported revenue in the global enterprise. To calculate the security budget as a percent of revenue across the enterprise, the security budget is divided by the total revenue. This is based on only those companies that reported information on both security budget and total revenue. Outliers on both the top and bottom of the dataset were removed before making the average budget as a percent of revenue calculation. Any numbers appearing inaccurately reported or incorrect were removed. Without removing outliers, the average security budget as a percent of revenue among the Top 15 companies reporting the highest security budgets as a percent of revenue was 4%.
