Student scores still lag pre-pandemic levels

The chart shows the change in the Connecticut Performance Index from the school year ending in 2019 to the school year ending in 2023 for three different subject areas for various student groups.

The index is the best measure of overall average achievement across standard and alternate assessments in a content area, according to the Connecticut State Department of Education.
