Permanent immigration numbers

Q: The government has recently announced that the permanent migration would be unchanged this year from around 185,000 places last year. These are people who want to live here permanently, rather than the total number of visitors, students, etc. The opposition have said that this level of permanent immigration will not help the “real pressures facing modern Australia”.
