Palo Alto may be 2,900 miles from New York City, but Stanford GSB grads still earn big bucks on the East Coast. The Class of 2020 averaged $182,843 in base pay. That’s a $20K improvement over the previous year -- and a near $40K boost over the past five years. Stanford grad pay was also over $27K higher than their counterparts at Harvard Business School. Despite the East Coast being HBS’ home turf, the school barely edged out Chicago Booth for the 2nd-highest checks ($155,514 vs. $154,559). In the Northeast, MBA Pay also correlated closely to rank, with local programs like Dartmouth Tuck, Virginia Darden, NYU Stern, and Yale SOM performing particularly well with East Coast employers. A Stanford GBS and a Harvard Business School tied for the highest individual base salary at $375K.
