Exploring poverty and homelessness
Public Integrity found that in 24 states, the percentage of students in a school district who experienced homelessness had no statistical relationship to any of three measures of economic disadvantage tested. Experts said under-identification of homeless students is one likely reason. See how states fared over two recent school years.
