Nebraska ranks 3rd with neighbors in pandemic job recovery

On a percentage basis, South Dakota leads Nebraska's neighbors in their recovery of jobs following the pandemic job market decline, while Colorado gained the largest absolute number of jobs, with 29,000 jobs above its pre-pandemic peak, an increase of 1% above its pre-pandemic peak. South Dakota gained 4,900 jobs, representing an increase of 1.1% above its pre-pandemic peak. Nebraska ranks 3rd, with 4,900 or 0.5% fewer jobs than before the pandemic. Missouri is 4th with a loss of 26,100 or 0.9%. Wyoming is 5th, losing 2,800 or 1%. Iowa is 6th, losing 24,800, or 1.6%, and Kansas is 7th losing 36,100 jobs, or 2.5%.
