Life Expectancy Continues To Decline In 2021

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that life expectancy declined for the second consecutive year in 2021, from nearly 79 years before the pandemic to just over 76 in 2021 — the lowest since 1996. The greatest decline was among indigenous people whose life expectancy dropped by more than 6.5 years since 2019
