539 persons who have been court-ordered fines and fees were surveyed regarding their living situation before fines and fees were imposed.

Of the people who reported a housing hardship, about two-thirds (67%) fell behind on rent or mortgage payments, about 37% had their utilities shut off, and about 34% needed to move to a different living situation
