Vehicle Stops in Philadelphia Up 28% This Year

Pedestrian stops in 2024 are roughly comparable to last year, according to figures provided by the Police Department, but vehicle stops are up by almost a third. Commissioner Kevin Bethel said he's instructed officers to focus on stopping erratic drivers to combat a wave of traffic-related crashes and deaths.
