Percentage of beef production on megafarms

FarmKind analysis of USDA data for 2022 shows that megafarms selling >2,500 cows/yr account for 44% of national sales (despite making up 0.4% of total beef cow farms). The map below is of beef cow production, not beef sales to customers (states with 0% megafarms predominantly consume beef produced in other states).
