In Central Asia, people are exposed to higher-than recommended levels of air pollution

The WHO recommends that exposure to air pollution - defined by particles smaller than 2.5 microns - not exceed 10 micograms per cubic meter on average each year. Air pollution in five Central Asian countries far exceeds this limit.
