Maps created by economists Agustín Indaco and Francesc Ortega show where individual hazards are highest, based on standardized average annual frequency in each county. Red indicates more risk; purple indicates lower risk.
Maps showing greatest risks for certain hazards. Hurricanes are Atlantic and Gulf Coast, Hail is mostly the Plains. Strong wind is mostly the Plains, Midwest and Northeast. Wildfires is largely in the West and Southwest, but also Oklahoma, Texas, Florida.
