How Income Inequality Changed In NYC Between 2010 to 2019

An analysis by the Independent Budget Office shows how income inequality changed between 2010 to 2019. The vertical line represents the ratio between high- and low-income earners. A higher number indicates a greater income gap.

The chart excludes the 1% of high-income earners but includes everyone else in the top 10%. Low-income earners included in this chart are those in the bottom half of the income distribution except those with negative incomes and those in the bottom 10%.
