Depression and Anxiety Medications Made Up at Least 10% of Prescriptions Filled in Most States in 2022

Color shading represents the percent of depression and anxiety medication prescriptions filled in that state in 2022. The darker the shading, the higher the percent.

The percent of prescription fills was calculated using the number of all depression and anxiety drugs filled as a share of all drugs (excluding vaccines) filled. State mental health rankings were obtained from Mental Health America's "The state of mental health in America 2023" report. More information on the data can be found in the methodology section.
