The Security Benchmark Report captures information on security budgets and total reported employees in the global enterprise. To calculate security budget allocated per employee across security programs in the Higher Education sector, the security budget was divided by the total number of employees in the enterprise. Security then took those numbers to find the average percentage among the market sector. Some employee numbers were estimated from public information. Outliers or numbers that appeared inaccurately reported were removed from this ranking. It should be noted that, while this can be used as a comparison among other security programs in your sector, sectors vary widely on a number of factors, including employee size, whether they are consumer facing, etc. In this sector, for example, student population was not included in the equation.
