Acres of state forest newly protected by DNR carbon project

Forests in four Western Washington counties will now be protected from logging.

These numbers represent the 2,500 acres of state-owned forest that will be newly conserved in the first phase of the DNR's carbon project. Another 1,250 acres of already protected forests will also be included in the project.
